2b. Urban/Urbanus WENTZ b. 1734 Father: Adolph WENTZ Named as a baptismal sponsor for one of the children of Johan Philip Wentz. Urban is most likely the brother of Joh. Philip Wentz or at least a close relation.
Urban's wife, Magdalena, was the widow of William Tetery/Teatery TETERY. William Tetery's will was dated June 25, 1770 and mentioned his wife Magdalena and 3 children. On June 3, 1773 an Admin. Account was filed in York Co. for the estate of William Tetery, late of York Co. Adam Winterode, Urbaun Wentz and Magdalena his wife, late Magdalena Tetery are listed as being administrators.
Adams Co. Deed Book "C"; pgs. 125-127/Indenture dated May 10, 1805; Urban Wentz to William Wentz; Property on Mt. Joy/Germany Twp. line: This Indenture made the 10th day of May in year of our Lord 1805 between Urban Wentz of Mt. Joy Twp., Adams Co., PA of one part and William Wentz of the twp., county and State aforesaid of the other part. Urban Wentz for and in consideration of the sum of 153 pounds, 12 shillings and 7 pence, lawful money of PA aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid by the said William Wentz. A tract of land situate lying and being in Mt. Joy and Germany Twps. in the county of Adams and State aforesaid, bounded and described as follows....beginning at a post in a line of Ludwig Miller land and thence by land of Joseph Steely, south, 18 degrees and 1/2, west, 71 perches to a post--thence south 50 degrees and and 1/2 east, 45 perches to a post post thence south 60 degrees east, 38 perches and 6/10's to a post, thence by land of Michael Riddlemooser north 49 degrees and 3/4, east 118 perches and 5/10's to a post thence by land of Soloman Menchey north 2 degrees and 1/4, west 14 perches and 8/10's to a white oak; thence by land of Ludwig Miller north 71 degrees and 1/2, west 109 perches and 3/10's to the place of beginning--containing 54 acres and 87 perches and the usual allowance of 60 percent and it being part of a larger tract of which William Teatery died seized one third part of which by his last will and testament he devised to his wife Magdalena Teatery who afterwards married the above named Urban Wentz party to these presents. And the above described part of the said tract was by order of the Court of Common Pleas of Adams Co. divided from the residue of the said tract by the sheriff of the said county and a jury of 12 men being one third part of the said whole tract agreeable to quantity and quality reference being....to the several in part recited instruments of writing will more fully and large appear--Together with all and singular the buildings.....In Testimony whereof the said Urban Wentz hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
